If a person writes a blog and there is no one around to read it... does it still have a point?

Come On Down to Moron Town

For those of you who know where I work... I just have to say I am constantly amazed that anything functions. If I didn't have even less faith in the millions of people who invest in the stock market... I would believe that our pathetic stock price was a sign that the world has seen through the dog and pony show our executives put on and are well aware of the incompetence that is prevalent in our organization.

I almost always give people the benefit of the doubt, and I believe that people are much more talented than they think. I also know that most people are underestimated. That being said... for the past couple of days, I have been confronted with multiple instances where people have made me think "wow, have I misjudged your intelligence?" Add to that the fact that no one listens to me because they can't fathom that I may know anything outside of my direct responsibilities as a lowly analyst... and you've got a lovely work environment.

My ability to be civil is wearing down... I almost bitch-slapped two people via email yesterday; but luckily, my fabulous business training in management class prompted me to add "softeners" to my correspondence (there is sarcasm involved here).

Sorry for the whine-fest. I probably sound like a horribly bitter and overconfident person, which is not the case. The next couple of weeks are going to be really interesting. My frustration over other people's stupidity may come back to bite me in the form of failing to pass that Series 7 exam. Even more fascinating is the fact that my boss just pulled me into a conference room to discuss whether I would want to deal with the aforementioned crap full time (taking a position in the Finance group in NY).

Brilliant....
