Choose My Adventure
I'm at a crossroads (or more like a roundabout). Seems like all of the important decisions in my life require some kind of immediate choice. Should I...
a) Take an IB job in Houston that pays a lot more but is extremely specialized (It's a small group... the team seems really cool... but it would probably cement the fact that I would be in Houston forever... and can I do this for the rest of my life?)
b) Try my luck in NY with the good ol' JPM Private Bank (With the cost of living, it would probably pay less... but it would be a promotion and good exposure... plus it would be a step up instead of a step down since I don't have to jump groups - I'm already a PB'er.)
c) Up and move to an east coast (brrr) or west coast (holy bejesus... the traffic!) location without any solid job prospects and try something new (Keep in mind that whoever recommends this will also be responsible for feeding me or being my shoulder to cry on if I end up homeless.)
Usually I just sit around and wait until, magically, only one option remains. I hope I can break that habit this time. C'mon Anonymous... help me out.
There's no cheating with this 'Choose Your Own Adventure' tale... you'll find out how this story ends in a couple of months. I hope I still own a computer at that point.

what happened to the stripper option? booo...
okay i think you should get out of houston...so i'm ruling out option a...i think option b is very cool...new york is awesome and i would love to visit you when you were there...now seflishly...i'm choosing option c because that means there's a possibility that you'll end up in LA and i could in theory spend quite a bit of time with you...which you know i'm all about...even if you need to borrow a shoulder or a sleeping bag...
anyways...hope that helps...in my head i think you should go with b, but selfishly i like c...so d?

The C horse may be the longshot, but it definitely is showing some promise. Sandhya and I may be visiting soon to check out the scene!

After a long period of consideration/deliberation I decided that the best option for you may be to leave Houston after all, although it's going to hurt me and all the other Houston buddies you will leave behind more than you would think. And since you presented us with only two non-Houston options, I have to say that LA definitely fits your style and is bound to fulfill your curious and adventurous nature. If it doesn't work out, you can always come back and make us all happy. But what if it does? Your happiness is sure worth a try. If you back down now, you will always be left wondering what could be...So, go ahead, try your luck, see what happens. I know I found my luck 6,000 miles away from where I grew up.....Alina
